Formica Corporation Announces the Passing of President Mitch Quint

Quint Led Formica Group North America Since 2010

CINCINNATI (August 22, 2022) — It is with deep sadness that Formica Corporation announces the passing of longtime company president Mitch Quint after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

“Mitch has been an outstanding leader for Formica Group and has supported the business not only in North America, but also globally” said Matthijs Schoten, CEO of Broadview Holding BV, parent company to Formica Group. “He was instrumental in the acquisition by Broadview and continued to strongly contribute to achieving the global market leadership position we hold today.”

“Above all, it was a pleasure to work with Mitch. In these past years, we built a strong bond based on trust and transparency. We will miss him dearly.”

Mitch joined Formica Corporation in 2006 as Vice President of Corporate Planning and later moved to the North American business unit as Vice President of Finance. He then served as Vice President of North American Operations, where he was responsible for managing the full scope of manufacturing activities, achieving a successful operational turnaround during the challenges of the global economic downturn.

Mitch was named president of the North American business in August, 2010 and continued in that role until his passing. Under his leadership, Formica Corporation transformed its service model and quality to regain its long-standing position as a global surfacing leader.

Before joining Formica Corporation, Mitch was principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, a leading strategy and technology consulting firm. He held bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. Mitch also earned a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management.

Mitch was also active in the Cincinnati community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens and the Cincinnati Parks Foundation at various times during his tenure.

Formica Corporation extends our deepest sympathy to Mitch’s wife, Aviva, and daughters, Charlotte and Evelyn.
