CINCINNATI (January 7, 2019) — Formica Group, the inventor of laminate, has been honored with a 2018 GOOD DESIGN™ Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, for the new Formica Infiniti^® ColorCore^®2 Laminate. 

Good Design is presented by The Chicago Athenaeum—together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies—as the foremost program that honors and recognizes the best design talent and the best manufacturing worldwide. Formica Infiniti^® ColorCore^®2 Laminate combines two of Formica Group’s visually stunning technologies (Formica Infiniti^® and ColorCore^®2 Laminate) and features a soft-to-the-touch super matte finish that is fingerprint-resistant, offers antimicrobial surface protection, thermal healing capabilities and a matching colored core that eliminates the brown edge typically seen with laminate.

The GOOD DESIGN™ Award is the third recognition achieved by Formica Infiniti^® ColorCore^®2 Laminate since it was first introduced in June, 2018. The surface was previously honored with a Best of NeoCon Gold Award and a Nightingale Silver Award for Surfacing Materials and Finishes.
