Established British furniture and interior designer Lucy Turner has created an exciting new collection of vibrant and beautiful furniture pieces using decors from the Formica® Collection.

By taking the traditional marquetry technique, Lucy delicately laser cuts Formica® Laminate to create a modern and durable collection of pieces showcasing Lucy’s distinctive and original artwork.

This creativity led to Lucy’s pieces catching the eye of Mohammed Shamsian, an internationally renowned master craftsman and artist based in the Sultanate of Oman. The two have collaborated to launch a unique collection of furniture for the UK market.

The Lucy Turner by Shamsian Collection is inspired by nature. It celebrates the modern styling of my furniture designs, complemented by the crafting and manufacturing experience of the Shamsian team.”

The collection includes exclusive furniture pieces including cabinets, coffee tables, and side tables. To create the modern aesthetic, Lucy has used a selection of laminates available from the Formica® Colors Collection, from dark greens to pale pinks.

Lucy’s clients delight in the long-lasting beauty of her work, and this has prompted the design and creation of a range of furniture with all the enduring qualities of a material she has championed for almost twenty years.

Lucy celebrates the launch of her new collection at the Formica Group Showroom on Tuesday 23rd May during Clerkenwell Design Week. Click here to find out more and to register to attend.

“Aside from its colourful beauty, the key advantages of Formica® Laminate lie in its durability and colourfastness. It will not fade, watermark, or discolour. Formica Laminate is exceptionally practical, making it the perfect material for homes and interiors where there is high usage.”
