BE BOLD AT ARCHIDEX 2015
Formica Malaysia showcased a selection of new decors offered in the Asia Collection at ARCHIDEX 2015 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
"ARCHIDEX is Malaysia’s largest exhibition and networking event in the trade calendar for the architectural interior design and building industry. It is also the leading event that gathers Southeast Asia’s fraternity of architects interior designers developers urban planners academicians students and various professionals. This year Formica Malaysia is one of the exhibitors who showcased a selection of new decors offered in the new BE BOLD Asia Collection in big bold trendy practical and functional designs.
The story of beautiful heritage wood comes alive through Formica’s new BE BOLD Asia Collection. Warm and woody yet refined with rustic appeal the laminates have an uncanny ability to transform any space into havens of comfort.
After all Formica Group is a leading provider of branded designed surfacing solutions for commercial and residential customers as the world’s largest manufacturer of High Pressure Laminates (HPL).
“Functionality and design have always been our core principles” explains Formica Asia President Peter Wilson.
“We continuously innovate product lines and heritage as the original inventor of High Pressure Laminates. We are a true global company. The same solutions offered in say North America are offered elsewhere around the world. We have a very large capacity of which 4 plants are in Asia.”
Peter Wilson adds the company is seeing a lot of growth from institutions and government projects over the past five years and would continue focusing on these segments as well as healthcare and residential. Laminates is one of the most durable surfacing materials on the market that stands up to everyday wear and tear which is an important requisite for healthcare interiors and they are also chemical-resistant and easy to clean.
“We feel very positive about the ASEAN and Asian markets” says Peter Wilson.
Formica ASEAN Marketing Communications Assistant Manager Shirnnie Lee adds that this Formica booth at ARCHIDEX was designed with the key message of Formica’s new collection in mind – to be big bold and beautiful.
Two new decors got their spots in the limelight at this ARCHIDEX exhibition – Beamwood and Planked Elm.
“Beamwood origins from a beautiful reclaimed timber with a history of more than 100 years which was originally used as a bridge linking Thailand and Myanmar” she says “The real timber was digitally scanned and tweaked a little to create this Beamwood design incorporating both beauty of a natural timber and high functionality of a HPL. The second design is Planked Elm which is ideal for the Malaysian and Singaporean markets for its keen interest in industrial and rustic chic trend.”
