On board with the Younique® by Formica Group laminate service

10/20/2016 10:47

Jones Garrard Move Ltd the transport design consultancy chose the Younique® by Formica Group laminate service to replicate an original colourful and patterned design onto the table tops of First Great Western’s newly refreshed First Class carriages.

Michael Rodber, industrial designer at Jones Garrard Move Ltd. explains: “First Great Western wanted to refresh and reinvigorate its First Class carriages, as part of programme to provide more Standard accommodation and improved First Class services.”

“Delivering a consistent, quality product that customers can instantly recognise, the new interiors reflect the top three priorities of First Class customers – space, privacy and productivity, and have been designed to transform the look and feel of the carriages, giving them a more spacious modern, yet classic feel. This includes a chequered board design for the table tops that was recognisable but not overpowering.”

Younique® is ideal for clients who require specific or personalised visuals as it allows for any design, image, pattern, as well as corporate branding and logos, to be reproduced in Formica® laminate.

“ The Younique by Formica Group laminate service allowed us to replicate our original design while keeping all the details clear and sharp, and preserving the richness of it.

The designer adds: “Transport is a highly regulated industry and laminate is a common choice when it comes to material as it offers extremely good qualities in terms of durability, hygiene and flammability. We chose Formica Group because their Younique service combines both practical and aesthetic properties, providing an individual and long-lasting surfacing solution”.

Ideal for use in high-traffic areas, Formica® High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is easy to maintain and will retain its visual appeal over time.

The Younique® by Formica Group customised laminate service has a dedicated team, offering an in depth knowledge of HPL as well as project support from concept through to production and delivery.

With over 100 years of unrivalled expertise, Formica Group is ideally placed to offer innovative new products and decors which respond to market needs and complement current design trends.
