Located in the creative hub of Ouseburn, Gingerino’s Kitchen is an independent, pizza-led concept known for its focus on quality ingredients and community-driven experiences. Upstairs, Sopra extends this vision, combining dining, music and DJ-led evenings in a space designed to evolve throughout the day and into the evening.
Material choice plays an essential role in shaping this environment, creating an interior that feels both distinctive and durable while supporting high-volume hospitality use and reinforcing the brand’s strong visual identity.
A Design-Led Surface Solution with Formica® Younique® laminate

In a fast-paced hospitality setting, surfaces must do more than look good — they need to perform. Younique laminate was chosen for its ability to deliver a custom, design-led solution while maintaining the durability required for regular use.
With Younique laminates, the team created surfaces that are bold and expressive, yet highly practical — built to withstand constant use while remaining easy to maintain.

Designing for Atmosphere, From Day to Night

The design of the space was led by artist Bobzilla, with a clear intention to create more than just a dining experience. The concept brings together sound, style and food, creating an environment that encourages people to gather and connect.
Material choices were key to achieving this vision, helping to create a space that feels:

• Adaptable across different uses throughout the day and night
The result is a setting that naturally evolves, from relaxed daytime dining into vibrant evening events — supported by surfaces that are made to be used, not just admired.
“Sopra is about bringing people together through sound, style, and food. We wanted a space that feels as considered as what we serve — something with identity, energy, and longevity. The finish we achieved with Younique played a big part in making that vision a reality.”
A Personal Connection
The decision to work with Formica Group also carried personal significance. Growing up in the North-East created a long-standing familiarity with the brand, further strengthened by a family connection through work experience.
This made the choice feel both authentic and meaningful, reinforcing the project’s local roots and character.
