Design CC creates a glamorous bar and pantry space with FENIX® innovative materials

2024

Design CC's brief was to transform a former office space adjacent to a dining room into an inviting, functional room.

One stipulation was that the new bar and storeroom had to blend harmoniously with the existing kitchen and dining room, creating a coherent looking and attractive living space. The key goal was to integrate this room with the rest of the kitchen area, so that the whole family could use it every day, be it to enjoy a morning coffee or prepare an evening cocktail.

Maintaining the synergy created by decompartmentalizing the living room and kitchen was one of the major challenges. It was imperative that the new bar and cellar area, the staircase and the dining room all fit together perfectly. As the kitchen is the heart of this home, it was important to maintain subtle, balanced details and colors in the new room to ensure the success of this redesign. Even if certain choices had to remain timeless, Design CC’s team wanted to avoid a monotonous design, in keeping with its clients' bright, dynamic personalities.

For this project, FENIX® innovative materials in Bronzo Doha (J2629 – now discontinued) were used to cover the bar cabinets and cellar casings. "Finding a material that offered both a festive and elegant look was challenging. As soon as I saw FENIX® Bronzo Doha, I knew I'd solved the puzzle. The depth of its color matched perfectly with the design I had imagined," says designer Valérie St-André.

FENIX®, a material with an ultra-matte, velvety effect, proved ideal for creating a bespoke bar and cellar area that added a discreet but effective touch of glamour and sophistication.

"While Bronzo Doha may at first glance seem discreet and simple, on closer inspection, the color reveals its distinguished yet captivating side, perfect for energizing and personalizing living spaces," says the designer. This material has made it possible to create a functional room that boasts a refined aesthetic perfectly aligned with the homeowners’ needs and tastes.
