2024

The report addresses the trends that will dominate the next two years and beyond. These are long-term trends based on global sociocultural changes, with a predominantly European focus. These trends reflect how such transformations are materialised into new designs and applications.

This study is not merely an aesthetic exercise; it goes further, showing how design addresses profound issues. It explores how spaces and objects reflect contemporary emotions and feelings, how the industry adapts to sustainability demands, and how new technologies are redefining the creation and imagination of spaces and products.

The current trends are divided into four groups, each addressing a key theme in today’s design:

Reclaimed Beauty: Explores the new aesthetic of sustainability, driven by designers and the industry.

Synthesised Nature: Analyses how technology is creating a new vision of the natural world.

Dark Hedonism: The boldest trend, connecting with emotionality and individualism.

Hyper-functionality: Reflects on practical design, emphasising the importance of simplicity.

Each trend is presented with two colour palettes, designs, and textures, through a careful selection of high-pressure laminates (HPL) from Formica Group, metallic laminates from Homapal®, and innovative surfaces by FENIX®, which directly respond to these emerging changes. In addition to offering tangible solutions for surface finishes in interior design, we propose combinations of these trends and palettes with Gabriel® fabrics, achieving a perfect harmony between colour and materiality. This integration is specifically designed to bring interior projects to life in the Retail, Contract, and Hospitality sectors.
