A new retail identity blending Scandinavian simplicity with Italian heritage

Bertoni, a Nordic clothing brand with more than 50 years of history, has reimagined its retail presence with a fresh concept rooted in its dual design heritage: Scandinavian simplicity and Italian elegance. Developed by SignalNorway AS, the concept - Nordic Elegance with Italian Roots - celebrates Bertoni’s values while creating an elevated, functional and welcoming customer experience.

Why Formica^® Laminate was selected

Formica^® Laminate and Homapal^® metal laminates were selected for their durability, high performance and the extensive range of colours, textures and decors available. The materials supported the design vision and delivered the resilience required for busy retail interiors.

• F5782 Formal Walnut was chosen for its dark, refined woodgrain - a key element echoing Bertoni’s Italian roots.
• F6444 Clay Textile adds depth and tactility, mirroring the look and feel of woven fabric. It plays a central role on the face of the cashier desk.
• F7858 Pumice offers a clean, light and warm neutral surface, perfectly complementing the surrounding architecture and supporting the Nordic side of the concept.
• Homapal metal laminates were introduced to bring touches of golden luxury within the flagship store.

ECL Projekt AS, the project management team who are also responsible for the production, delivery and installation of furniture and interior elements, used these laminate materials when producing the cashier desk, shelves, storage elements and display units - ensuring consistency, durability and an elevated aesthetic throughout the stores. By October 2025, three stores had opened including the flagship store in Oslo, with more planned as Bertoni rolls out this identity across Scandinavia.
