Calling all future designers! Formica Corporation’s 2024 FORM Student Innovation Competition is now open.
The 2024 FORM Student Innovation Competition opens for entries Sept. 6, 2023 through March 15, 2024. Students are invited to showcase their creativity by designing a furniture piece that interprets “Newstalgia”, an aesthetic that blends retro and vintage design with a fresh, modern take. This can be a piece for any residential or commercial setting. These designs must incorporate two or more Formica® Laminate product colors or patterns and at least one color or pattern of FENIX® innovative materials along with a project statement.

Prizes
The grand prize winner will receive a $2,000 cash award and their design will be fabricated then at NeoCon 2024 in Chicago. The second-place winner will receive a $1,000 cash award and third place will receive $500 with both design renderings shown during NeoCon 2024. The top three winners will all be invited by Formica Corporation to attend NeoCon for a chance to network with industry professionals and get a taste of the design community.
About The Competition
The FORM Student Innovation Competition is a modern take on the original “FORM: Contemporary Architects at Play” challenge, held by Formica Corporation in 2008. Ten world-renowned architects, including Michael Graves, Bernard Tschumi and Massimo Vignelli, constructed new works of art from Formica® Brand products.
