The Formica Classics Collection |
The 2005 Formica Classics Collection includes two popular high-pressure laminate (HPL) patterns from the 1950s-Boomerang and VirrVarr-refreshed for a contemporary style.
Applications: The Classics Collection is perfect for virtually any horizontal or vertical surface, including countertops, work surfaces or backsplashes. It is suitable for residential, commercial, hospitality, retail or furniture applications.
Boomerang Pattern: Originally introduced as Skylark, the pattern came to be known as Boomerang due to the lively boomerang-shaped graphics that danced across kitchen countertops and dinette sets from the 1950s. For 2005, Formica revs up this retro classic by using new printing technology to update the original high-impact colors.
Boomerang Colors: Skylark Boomerang A light, powdery blue with boomerang-shaped accents of white, gray and sky blue
Aqua Boomerang A trendy, spa-like water color with deep blue and white accents
Coral Boomerang A rich retro red background featuring gray, black and white accents
Charcoal Boomerang A warm medium gray with highlights of black, dark gray and crisp white
VirrVarr Pattern: Created in 1958 by Prince Sigvard Bernadotte of Sweden, this original design has achieved cult-classic status in Northern Europe, just like Boomerang has in North America. Vivid and smooth at the same time, VirrVarr is named after the Swedish word for "tangled" or "criss-cross." Dark, rough-hewn lines against a lighter background give VirrVarr a dramatic effect that combines classic retro appeal with graphic modern influences.
VirrVarr Colors: VirrVarr Light Blue - A soft powdery blue background accented by dramatic gray lines
VirrVarr White - An updated white with a hint of gray line, creating a clean, soft graphic interpretation of the best-selling 1950s original
