ColorCore®: A Formica Corporation design innovation
Invented by Formica Corporation in 1982, ColorCore® was one of the most influential innovations in laminate of its time. Unlike traditional laminates where the color is applied as a top layer, ColorCore® color goes beyond the surface throughout the product and eliminates the “dark line” along edges. ColorCore® made it possible for designers to achieve volumetric creations and inspired greats such as Frank Gehry, Stanley Tigerman and Massimo Vignelli.
What’s new
Formica Corporation re-engineers the ColorCore® line to expand its potential design applications. ColorCore®2 has added strength and flexibility for popular fabrication techniques, such as postforming, while updating colors and finishes.
