You may create your bespoke laminate through the Formica® Digital Service in several ways. Whether you have your own artwork, a specific object which you wish to represent in laminate, or a design concept, we can normally accommodate your wishes.
Photo Artwork to Laminate
If you have images or artwork available, we can reproduce these in Formica Digital laminate when they are supplied in the correct format. Please see ‘Next Steps’ for details. Lead times vary.
Object to Laminate
The Digital Design Team can arrange photography of objects which you wish to have represented in laminate. Our professional photography service will work to your brief and will ensure that images are created which suit our production processes. All photography, and any image manipulation, is quoted fully in advance at highly competitive rates. Lead times vary.
Idea to Laminate
The Formica Digital Service can take your ideas and will source stock images to meet your brief, which can then be produced in laminate. All stock image usage and manipulation is quoted fully in advance at highly competitive rates. Lead times vary.

| Printing Processes |
The Formica Digital Service employs specialist technologies in the reproduction of original artwork. Two principal techniques are used to carry the designs into the finished laminate.
Digital printing
You provide us with designs and images on disc, or we create digital graphics from your photographs, slides, original paintings or illustrations. The digital process is particularly suitable for creating unique solutions on a one-off basis.
Screen printing
Specially adapted for high pressure laminate production, screen printing is ideally suited to projects where flat and bold colour is a particular requirement. You can design your own image, use photography, choose hand-painted effects, adapt one of our images or patterns... In all cases, you can specify your own colours.

| Sizes |
Digital printing
The maximum size of the usable sheet is 3000mm x 1170mm. The high pressure laminate sheet is supplied at 3050mm x 1220mm with a white border all round. This gives the fabricator a clear straight line from which to work.
Screen printing
We supply screen printed images in a sheet size of 3050mm x 1290mm. Our Digital Design team can advise you on the positioning of your images to enable maximum use of the full sheet, or to allow for subsequent cutting of multiple images.

| Material |
Designs that are screen or digitally printed may be incorporated into most grades of Formica high pressure laminates, including standard grade, compact grade (up to 20mm thick) and flame-retardant grade. Additionally, we can create postforming grade laminates with the screen printing process. Laminate can also be bonded to a variety of substrates such as chipboard or MDF.
