Breathing Easier With Formica Brand Products
Formica Brand Products Found To Have Minimal Impact on Indoor Air Quality

CINCINNATI (November 3, 2004) - Formica Corporation has been awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute for their Formica® Brand Laminate, DecoMetal® and solid metal collections. Tested according to the rigid GREENGUARD Standards for Low Emitting Products, Formica Brand Laminate and DecoMetal products are found to have minimal impact on the indoor environment. Choosing products that have been GREENGUARD Certified can significantly reduce the level of contaminants in the indoor environment that may affect health and quality of life.

"GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification is very important to architects, designers and consumers who want to breathe easier knowing that the Formica brand surfacing materials they choose for their interiors will be safe," says Mario Gonzalez, vice president of marketing, Formica Corporation. "It allows them the freedom and confidence to do more by specifying the products for their project that promote a healthy environment."

Formica Corporation voluntarily applied to the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute for Indoor Air Quality Certification of Formica Brand Laminate and Formica DecoMetal and solid metal collections. Testing will be administered on an ongoing quarterly and annual basis to ensure continued certification. Formica Brand Laminates may also be applied to office furniture that has been certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute to obtain credit for Low Emitting Office Furniture in the Indoor Environment Quality Section.

Formica Brand Laminate is offered in a broad range of colors, unique patterns and sophisticated finishes. Additionally, the DecoMetal collection includes 39 metal laminates and 9 solid metals and is ideal for vertical and light-duty horizontal use; it is not intended for high-wear applications, such as countertops.
