Formica® Brand Laminate Shines at the International Builders' Show |
CINCINNATI (February 13, 2008) – Formica® brand laminate shines at the International Builders’ Show as 12 patterns emerge with the new Radiance finish. High gloss and punctuated with texture, the finish features holographic facets that refract and reflect light in a natural veined pattern. In addition to Radiance, six new stone looks will be launched under the Etchings and Honed finishes.
“Radiance provides dimension and authentically reflects the natural beauty of quartz, granite and mica patterns,” said Renée Hytry, Senior Vice President, Global Design for Formica Corporation.
Radiance also has the ProFormance® treatment — giving it greater wear, mar and scratch resistance over traditional laminate.
The 2008 Formica® brand laminate launches include:
New Mineral Series with Radiance Finish
The new Mineral Series finds inspiration in the earth’s naturally occurring quartz and mica compositions and recreates them in six organic colors with a “crystalline” structure.
• Mineral Ochre captures the warm healing powers of the sun with rich yellow dappled with warm earthy browns and sunlit gold.
• Mineral Sepia blends warm browns and gold, highlighted with subtle copper undertones.
• Mineral Olivine blends olive-green with warm taupe, highlighted by russet brown and green-black crystals.
• Mineral Umber, warm reddish brown with rich cocoa and dusky black.
• Mineral Jet, an opulent mix of black and dark browns with warm brown pyrite-inspired highlights.
• Mineral Sienna, iron red and clay of soil blended with the rich brown-black of rock.
Granite Series with Radiance Finish
Featuring small crystals and large, sweeping veining to mirror the random variation found in natural granite, the Granite Series comes to life with Radiance. Styled to coordinate with today’s popular wood cabinetry stains, the nature-inspired patterns are:
• American Rose Granite, rose tones balanced with cool grays harmonize with cherry woods.
• Brazilian Brown Granite, sumptuous browns and smoke gray complement mocha stained wood work.
• Venetian Gold Granite, rich gold and warm brown highlighted against creamy white look contemporary with oak and maple cabinets.
The Quarstone Collection with Radiance Finish
The Quarstone Collection, featuring mono-colored, small-scale crystals with the depth and character of natural quartz, is perfectly complemented by the added dimension of the Radiance finish. Reflecting the urban cool of industrial materials, Quarstone is ideal for contemporary interiors. New patterns are:
• Crème Quarstone, a warm natural cream with highlights of gold.
• Walnut Quarstone, a sophisticated dark chocolate brown and charcoal that contrasts beautifully with light maple woods.
• Smoke Quarstone, a deep charcoal gray that harmonizes with dark wood grain urban or traditional cabinets, such as cherry.
Santa Cecilia Series with Etchings Finish
Santa Cecilia, a classic granite from Brazil, is one of the most popular granites available in the residential market today. Formica Corporation’s interpretation features a medium-sized, consistent stone pattern with directional movement. The Etchings finish adds luxurious depth and detail to the granite crystals. New patterns include:
• Santa Cecilia Light, a soft off-white with hints of gold and burgundy that coordinates with both light and dark wood grains.
• Santa Cecilia Gold, a warm gold pattern with honey highlights is dramatized by ruby bursts.
Parquet Series in Honed Finish
An ornamental mosaic of stone, the Parquet series features repeating geometric squares and rectangles that emote a warm beauty and color variations found in nature.
• Parquet Latte, a cream and caramel swirl with a cozy and natural glow. The Latte color is compatible with cabinet colors of warm oak and toffee stained maples.
• Parquet Café, a rich golden brown, like coffee with a hint of cream.
• Parquet Noche features the dark, full-bodied color of espresso beans.
Travertine Series in Honed and Etchings Finishes
Originally introduced in 2004 as a laminate pattern, Travertine quickly became one of the most popular offerings. Availability in two premium finishes gives this pattern even more flexibility to have a more casual appearance with the Honed finish, or to fit in a more lavish environment with the glossy Etchings finish.
• Mocha Travertine, a luxurious mix of coffee, cream and cocoa that is a natural with browned cherries, wenge wood stains and the new white-washed maples.
