HardStop™ Decorative Protection Panels by Formica Group offer an excellent solution for high-performance wall panels by blending ease of installation and impact resistance with a full range of design selections that coordinate perfectly with other Formica® laminates. Unlike laminate that contains a paper core, HardStop™ Panels feature a treated fiberglass core for added durability, strength and Class A fire rating. HardStop™ Panels are a commercial match to standard HPL. Any samples requested will be HPL samples.

Do HardStop™ Panels match exactly with Formica® Laminate?

HardStop™ Panels are a commercial match to our standard HPL and is available in the full-range of Formica® laminate designs.

What are some common applications for HardStop™ Decorative Protection Panels?

HardStop™ Decorative Protection Panels were designed for building interiors, such as health care, education, office, hospitality, and more.  Formica® recommends selling this product to professionals in the commercial market. HardStop™ Panels can be used vertically or horizontally for commercial applications, such as walls, columns, backsplashes, doors or cabinet fronts, desk fronts, counters or table tops.

Is there risk that HardStop™ Panels will delaminate?


What is the exact sizing of each sheet?

HardStop™ Panels will be available in the following exact sizes:
Sheet width: 48” (1219mm)
Sheet lengths: 96” (2,438mm) or 120” (3,048mm)

Can HardStop™ Panels bend or be post-formed?

No, HardStop™ panels will not bend to any radius nor will they postform. 

Are HardStop™ Panels water resistant?


How are HardStop™ Panels and aluminum trims cleaned?

HardStop™ Panels are very easy to clean.

• In most cases, you only need to use a clean, damp, nonabrasive cotton cloth and a mild liquid detergent or household cleaner.
• Rinse with clean water, using a clean, non-abrasive cotton cloth.
• Dry the surface with a soft, clean, non-abrasive cotton cloth.
• HardStop™ Aluminum Trim may not be cleaned with high pH cleaners, such as 409®, Simple Green®, or Fantastik®, as this could dull the coloration.

Is this product UV resistant?

The product is intended for indoor use and has the same UV resistance as standard laminate.

What kind of substrates will HardStop™ Panels be installed on?

• Painted Drywall and Gypsum

• Brick & concrete block that is above-grade (with special instructions)
