Living Our Values
Our commitment to our people within the Formica Group family guarantees we live and breathe the values we hold ourselves to.
Learning and Development
In order to get our people to where they want to be in their careers, Formica Group is focused on attracting great talent, developing the capability of our people, and creating highly engaged and high performing teams. We do this by investing in culture, people engagement and diversity.
The programs we offer are truly global best practice, helping our people make it right here by giving them the tools and knowledge to do their jobs better.
Our Learning Academy provides a number of courses including Step Up, for our first time leaders, then Branching Out, Leaders’ Edge for our senior leaders, and our many Health and Safety programs. These are tailor-made training programs especially for Fletcher Building businesses and delivered in partnership with leading local service providers. Our executives routinely teach or act as evaluators on our programs.
Step Up is our customised learning program for new and experienced supervisors, team leaders and assistant managers. The programme aims to increase skills and confidence to lead people and ensure the work gets done.
Branching Out is our customised leadership program designed to improve performance in middle management. The program aims to support leaders who are navigating challenging market conditions, in a real and pragmatic way. Branching Out brings business leaders together to explore new ways of doing business.
We are 100% committed to achieving a safe and healthy work environment for everyone and to providing a large range of work-based learning courses for job-specific skills, plus a range of Health and Safety training for our core safety systems and processes.
As a group, we have committed to supporting charitable causes that have meaning to us: Tiny Lives, MacMillan, Parkinson’s UK, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
In 2018, Formica Group aligned with the North East Local Enterprise Partnership in the UK to provide employability advisory services and a strategic voice to the community local to our North Shields Head Quarters. Offering guidance mentoring, coaching opportunities and careers advice, we are supporting investment and the futures of our youth by closely partnering with two local schools, Monkseaton and Kings Priory.
From historical roots to a modern European Headquarters and continuous improvement, we are never satisfied with the status quo. As a business in growth mode, we are equipped with the latest technology and are working with substantial investment from our parent company to ensure the highest quality product and efficient service for our customers.
